Vampire Flash Photo Check: Eyes, Fangs and Flash

Harsh flash and grain hide small mistakes at phone size and expose them when someone zooms in. Open the result at full size and go through these checks in order; if one fails, run the same photo again or try a clearer upload.

What to check in the flash-lit snapshot

01

Still you under the flash

Blown-out flash flattens the face, so compare the shape of your eyes, nose, jaw and hairline with your original rather than the skin detail. Skin is meant to be a shade paler and brighter. A different face shape or a different hair colour is the sign to try a sharper, more front-on photo.

02

Both eyes match

The glow should look like coloured contact lenses in both eyes, with the iris and pupil still shaped like eyes. Look for one eye red and one not, red spilling onto the white of the eye, or eyes pointing in different directions. Any of those reads as a mistake rather than a style.

03

Two small fangs, not a mouth of them

Count the pointed teeth. The recipe asks for two small white fangs in a smirk. Extra fangs, teeth merged together, fangs on the bottom row or fangs poking through the lip are common AI errors and worth a rerun. There should be no blood on the lips or teeth.

04

Flash, shadow and grain

The flash should come from the front, with one hard shadow on the wall behind you. Two shadows going different ways, light coming from the side, or a smooth studio look mean the result lost the snapshot feel. Grain and slightly washed colour are intended, not a quality problem.

05

Choker, top and hands

The thin silver choker should sit around the neck without cutting into the jaw. The black top should have lace trim and look like one garment. If a hand appears in the frame, count the fingers. Melted jewellery or extra hands are easy to miss in the dark parts of the image.

06

A plain wall behind you

The wall behind you should be plain, with only a soft string of warm fairy lights and the edge of an unmade bed. If any poster, picture, band name, logo or face appears behind you, run it again. The same goes for any lettering or date stamp in a corner of the photo.

Questions & answers

How many photos do I need?

One: a clear photo of you.

Is my photo private?

Your photos are used to make your image. Only upload photos of yourself, or of people who have agreed to it.

Can I use the result commercially?

Check your plan's terms for what you can do with generated images. They apply to your result.

How long does it take?

About a minute. You can leave the page; the finished Y2K Vampire Flash image is saved to your assets.

How is this different from the Halloween Costume trend?

Halloween Costume puts you in a classic caped vampire costume, full body, at a candlelit house party. Y2K Vampire Flash is a close, grainy flash snapshot from the chest up with red eyes and fangs, in the style of a 2000s digital camera.

Is there any blood?

No. The look is red eyes, red lips and small fangs, with no blood or gore.

Can I keep my own outfit?

No. The trend dresses you in a black lace-trim top and a silver choker so the look stays consistent. Your face, hair and skin tone come from your photo.
