Mi Chico Trend With Friends: Plan a Five-Person Video

The Mi Chico crew format needs five people, a phone on the ground, a rooftop and a routine everyone knows. Getting five friends to the same place at sunset, learning the moves and nailing it in one take is the hard part. Oakgen's Mi Chico Dance template turns five photos into the same 17-second take instead. This page is the organiser's checklist: collecting the photos, agreeing who leads, and timing captions to the beats of the video.

Organise the crew before you upload

01

Ask everyone first

Five people will appear in the video, so five people should say yes before their photo goes in. Send the group a message that says what the clip is, that it is AI-made and where you plan to post it. Leave out anyone who does not answer or does not want to be in it. The template is meant for you and friends who are in on it, not for putting someone in a dance video without their knowledge.

02

Collect five usable photos

Ask each friend for one recent photo of just them, face clearly visible, in decent light, with as much of their outfit showing as possible. A group photo cropped five ways is a weak starting point: faces come out small and other people's shoulders creep in. Sunglasses, hats pulled low and heavy filters hide what the template needs. The outfit in each photo is the outfit that person dances in, so if the crew wants to match, agree on colours before the photos are taken.

03

Decide who leads

One role is clearly the main character: the Leader picks the phone up off the ground, films the selfie while walking backwards and dances front and centre for most of the routine. Give that slot to the birthday person, the one who suggested the video, or whoever the joke is about. The other four roles are seen in the opening huddle and in the formation; the Mi Chico Dance AI casting page describes each position in detail.

04

Captions on the beats

The take has three natural caption moments. Over the opening huddle, from 0 to about 1.5 seconds, put the setup, for example "When the group chat finally agrees on a plan". Over the selfie walk-back, about 1.5 to 4.4 seconds, add who the crew is. Leave the first seconds of the routine clean, then put a sign-off near the end, before the hands-on-head finish at about 15.5 seconds. Keep text in the upper third during the routine: the dancers fill the lower half of the frame.

05

One video, five people to check

When the result comes back, every friend should be able to find themselves. Check the five faces in the opening huddle, the leader's face during the selfie, and each dancer as the formation rotates. Send the group the video before posting it publicly so anyone who does not like how they came out can say so. Say in the caption that the video is AI-made.

06

What stays the same

The rooftop car park, the sunset, the camera moves, the routine and the original Mi Chico sound are the template. You cannot add a sixth person, drop to four or change the moves. If the crew wants a smaller group dance, Oakgen has three-person routines such as Bulin 47 Squad and Gangnam Style Trio, and Smalltown Boy Dance for two.

    Cast the crew

Upload one clear photo for each of the five dancers. The leader picks up the phone and dances front and centre most of the time, so cast that role first.

  2. 02

    Review quality and price

Choose a quality and review the quote. It includes preparing all five photos and the complete video.

  3. 03

    Check every dancer

Watch the huddle faces, the selfie, and each dancer as the formation rotates before downloading your portrait MP4 with the original sound.

01

Five dancers, five photos

Each photo casts one member of the crew: their face, hair and outfit carry from the huddle over the phone, through the selfie walk-back, into the routine. Nobody from the original video is kept.

02

The whole take

One continuous 17-second shot: the worm's-eye huddle against the sky, the leader's selfie walking backwards, the phone going down and the full-crew routine on a rooftop car park as the sun sets and the lights come on.

03

The Mi Chico sound

The finished video keeps the source's audio, the Mi Chico sound the original crew danced to, so every chest pump, sway and hands-on-head finish stays on the beat.

04

An attributed source

The preview is the original @jyt crew video, credited and used as the motion and timing reference. It is not an Oakgen-generated result.

Questions & answers

What is the Mi Chico dance trend?

It is a group dance to the song "Mi Chico". In the crew version Oakgen recreates, five friends lean over a phone lying on the ground, one picks it up for a selfie and walks backwards, then the five dance the Mi Chico routine together on a rooftop car park. On TikTok it is also searched as "trend de mi chico".

Do I need five photos?

Yes. Every dancer in the video is redrawn from a photo, so the leader, blue beanie, black cap, sunglasses and graphic tee each need one: yourself and four friends. Fewer than five is not supported, because a dancer without a photo would have no one to become.

Which photo should be the leader?

The leader is the dancer in the patchwork jacket at the front of the opening huddle. They pick up the phone, film the selfie walking backwards and dance front and centre for most of the routine, so they are seen the most. Put the person the video is about in that slot.

What song is it?

"Mi Chico" is a song by DJ Goja, released in March 2026. The source clip uses the TikTok sound "Official Mi Chico", credited to Jason Derulo, from the later Jason Derulo and Melody version. Your video keeps the source's audio.

I saw cats and dogs doing this. Is it the same?

The animal clips are AI remakes that copied this crew's format after it was posted. Oakgen's Mi Chico Dance follows the original five-person crew and is made for photos of people.

How is it different from other Oakgen dance trends?

Gangnam Style Trio and Bulin 47 Squad are three-person routines, and Smalltown Boy Dance is a duo. Mi Chico Dance is the five-person one, with the phone huddle and selfie walk-back before the routine.

How long is the video?

About 17 seconds in portrait 9:16, from the first wave over the phone to the final whip-pan up to the sky.

Whose photos can I use?

Use photos of yourself or of people who agreed to be in the video, one person per photo. Do not upload photos of public figures or anyone who has not consented.

Is the preview generated by Oakgen?

No. It is the attributed source video by @jyt, shown for its moves, camera and timing. Your result is drawn from your five photos; review every face and the routine before sharing.

How much does it cost?

4,013 credits per 720p video. The quote includes preparing all five photos and the complete video. Check it before generating.
