01The post
The reference is an Instagram reel posted on October 21, 2026 by the account @goldenretrieverswitze (display name Switze): https://www.instagram.com/reel/DexW6efJODi/. When Oakgen fetched its metadata on October 23 it had about 278,000 plays. Oakgen shows it on the trend page as an attributed reference, not as its own result, and does not claim anything about how the creator made it.
02The song credit
Instagram labels the reel's audio as "The Moon" by Dj Mimmo Suarez. That label is the only source we have for the track: a web search on October 23 found no separate listing for a song of that name by that artist, so treat it as the post's own credit rather than a confirmed release. What the audio itself shows is an electronic track with no speech: a tonal synth line at the start, a rising build from about 8 seconds and a punchier section from about 10.5 seconds.
03The scene
One continuous handheld portrait shot, 12 seconds long, on a night street. A boxy red vintage sedan is parked on the left with its chrome bumper and round headlight toward the camera; darker parked cars line the street behind it, with blurred warm-lit buildings in the background. A golden retriever in a black harness stands upright on its hind legs on the asphalt beside the front wheel. There is no caption, logo or other burned-in text in the frame.
04The routine
For the first 2.5 seconds the dog rests one front paw on the red fender and bounces on the spot. Around 2.5 to 4 seconds it raises a paw high toward the camera in a wave and steps away from the car. From 4 to 8 seconds it struts upright, lifting its knees in turn and swinging its front paws to the beat. As the music builds it takes bigger high-knee steps, and from about 10 seconds to the end it bounces beside the front wheel again with both front paws raised together at chest height.
05Not the 2025 AI dancing dog meme
Know Your Meme documents a different clip, the Dancing AI Golden Retriever Dog from November 2025, where a golden retriever was rotoscoped onto a human dancer and set to the "I Left My Home" military cadence. That meme has no red car or night street. People may use similar words for both, but the Dog Car Dance template follows only the October 2026 reel described here.
06What Oakgen copies and what it replaces
The template keeps the red car, the parked cars, the night street, the lighting, the handheld framing, the timing of every move and the original soundtrack. It replaces the dancing dog, harness included, with the one pet or person in your photo. The source dog's identity is not reused. Try it on the Dog Car Dance page, or read the beat map if you want to know exactly where each move falls.
