01What carries over and what does not
Your face, hair and general look come from the upload. Your pose, background and whatever you were holding do not, because the template lays you on your front across the bed, propped on your elbows with the phone to your ear. So pick the photo for how clearly it shows you, not for how close its pose is to the trend.
02Light and framing that help
Daylight from a window or soft indoor light that reaches your whole face works better than a backlit or night-time shot. Frame from roughly the chest up so your hairstyle and top are visible; once you are lying down in a dim room, those details help friends recognise you. A plain or simple background in the original is fine, since it is replaced.
03Photos to skip
Avoid sunglasses, a hand or phone covering part of your face, strong beauty filters and very low-resolution screenshots. Group photos are a poor fit because the template needs one person on the bed, and the doorway already holds the only other figure. Upload only yourself or someone who has agreed to be in the picture.
