Video trend
The Walking Dead island boy video is an AI pool parody with look-alikes of the show's two leads, one sitting on the pool edge and one standing in the water in a black leather jacket, with the island boy vocal hook playing. The joke is the contrast between two grim TV characters and a very unserious meme. Oakgen's Island Boy template keeps the pool, the song and the camera, but never the TV faces: both people come from photos you upload. Oakgen is not affiliated with The Walking Dead, its network or its actors.
The reference clip shows AI likenesses of real actors. The template replaces both men with grey depth silhouettes before generation, so neither likeness is carried into your video, and both slots require a photo. That is also why the page and the tool never name the actors.
The parody works because the people look too serious for the song. You can keep that without anyone famous: a friend in a suit or a leather jacket in the Man in the pool slot, someone in work clothes on the edge. Each person wears the outfit from their own photo.
If you want a post-apocalyptic look, have your friends dress up for the photo: a sheriff-style shirt, a leather jacket, a scarf. Do not upload photos of the actors or stills from the show; use only people who agreed to appear.
The backyard pool with banana plants, the 14-second handheld shot with no cuts, who sits and who stands, and the original vocal soundtrack. The person in the pool still stands in the water fully dressed.
If you came here for the car scene rather than the pool, that is a different template: Brick by Brick puts two people in the front seats of a car for the I built this brick by brick speech. The two clips use different scenes and sound, so pick the one your friends will recognise.
Add a photo for each role shown below. All roles need a photo.
Upload a clear photo for the Man on the edge and the Man in the pool. Upper-body or full-body photos in the outfit you want work best; everyone pictured should have agreed to appear.
Pick 480p, 720p or 1080p and review the quote, which covers the full 14-second video and both photo preparations.
Watch that each person keeps their own face and outfit for the whole shot and that each mouth follows the reference movement, then download your 9:16 MP4 with the original sound.
Each person takes the face, hair, build and complete outfit from their own photo. Nothing of the reference clothing is kept, so the one in the water stays in whatever they wear in their photo, soaked where it meets the pool.
One continuous handheld phone shot: a glance toward the camera from the edge, then larger gestures from the one in the pool, while the camera drifts around the two of them.
The bright blue water, the stone edge and the wall of banana plants stay as they are in the reference. Only the two people change.
The video keeps the reference's soundtrack: the I'm an island boy vocal hook, the line of the 2021 Island Boy meme, with no backing track.
It is a 14-second vertical AI clip that restages the 2021 I'm an Island Boy meme in a small backyard pool: one man sits on the pool edge with his legs in the water while another stands waist-deep in the pool fully dressed, and the island boy vocal hook plays over their movements on a handheld phone shot. Oakgen's template puts your own two people in it and keeps the pool, the camera and the sound.
The version that spread online cast look-alikes of the two leads of The Walking Dead, which is why some people call it the Walking Dead island boy clip. Oakgen is not affiliated with the show or its actors, and the template never keeps either face: both people in your video come from your photos.
Yes. The Man on the edge and the Man in the pool each need a photo, because the template replaces both reference men with grey silhouettes, so neither of them is kept in your video.
The reference has an Island Boy vocal soundtrack, but its visible mouth movements do not line up with every word. The template follows each visible face rather than assigning every vocal line to one person; review the result with sound before sharing.
Yes. Either slot accepts a photo of a person, a pet or a character. A pet keeps its own species and is scaled to sit or stand in the same place; results vary more than with people, so check the finished video.
Yes. Each person wears the outfit in their own photo, not the reference clothing. The one in the pool stays dressed in the water, so whatever they wear gets wet.
No backing track. The sound is the reference's own: the I'm an island boy vocal hook, and your video keeps it unchanged.
Your own, or people who agreed to appear. Do not upload photos of celebrities, public figures or anyone who has not consented, and label AI videos clearly when you share them.
About 14 seconds in vertical 9:16, one continuous shot.
No. It is the AI reference clip the trend comes from, used as the motion and timing reference, not an Oakgen result. Review both faces, the outfits and the mouth movement before sharing.
