Forever Dunk is a short AI clip: someone in a plain grey top and trainers grabs the ball in the middle of a packed professional game, runs the whole floor, dunks with one hand and screams at the crowd while the "Forever" hook plays. This guide takes you from choosing your photo to posting, in order. When your video is back, the companion article, checking your Forever Dunk result, walks through it second by second.
Crash the game yourself
Add one photo of the player, review your credit quote and make the 20-second clip with the original song.
What the template gives you
The template is the whole reel in one following shot, about 20 seconds in portrait. The player catches the ball near centre court, dribbles along the sideline, drives past a running referee, takes off at about 9.5 seconds and dunks at about 11.5 seconds. After the landing a courtside fan's foot swings into the foreground, the player starts to roar behind it at about 14 seconds, and from about 15.5 seconds to the end the roar is a close shot. The song stays in your video.

The take-off under the rim. This is the reference AI reel by @downey.ai, not an Oakgen output.
Step 1: Pick who takes over
There is one role, and the camera sees it at very different distances:
| Stretch | How big the player is | What the photo has to carry |
|---|---|---|
| The run, 0 to about 5 s | Full figure, small in the frame | Hair shape, build, outfit down to the shoes |
| The drive and the dunk, about 5 to 12 s | Medium, face readable | Face, arms and sleeves |
| The scream, about 14 s to the end | Waist up from about 15.5 s, the closest shot | The whole face with the mouth open wide |
The funniest casting is someone who would never be on a pro court. For a role-by-role breakdown, see casting yourself as the player.
Step 2: Pick the photo and the outfit
- One person in the photo, nobody else in the frame.
- Use a photo of yourself or of someone who agreed to be in the video. Do not use photos of public figures.
- Full body if you can, so the trousers and shoes come through the run and the jump.
- Face sharp and front-on, no sunglasses, nothing in front of the mouth: the ending is a close-up scream.
- Wear the outfit you want on court. The template keeps it instead of putting you in a uniform, and everyday clothes are the joke.
Step 3: Check the quote and generate
Choose 480p, 720p or 1080p. The quote covers the full video, the preparation of your photo and four scene references, and the studio shows it before anything starts. The Player slot must have a photo before the button works.
Step 4: Check the result
Watch once with sound and once without. With sound: the take-off and the dunk should happen while the hook repeats "forever" and "ever", and the player should never mouth the lyrics. Without sound: the face stays the same person through the run, the dunk, the foot in the foreground and the scream, and nobody else in the arena has your face. The result check has the full list with timestamps.
Step 5: Label it and post it
- Say the video is AI-made, and credit @downey.ai for the original clip.
- Do not present it as something that happened at a real game, and do not tag real players or teams.
- The song contains strong language; keep that in mind for where you post.
- Captions sit best in the upper third during the run and above the head during the scream. Captions and cover for the scream ending has ideas and the best cover frames.
Where the song and the clip come from
The hook-by-hook timing is on which line plays under each move, and the source page covers the original reel and what we could not confirm. If you want a different kind of basketball clip, crashing a pro arena compared with Oakgen's other dunk trends explains when 1v1 Dunk or Poster Dunk fits better.
Two other October trends are made the same way, from photos and one reference take: how to make Studio Neutral Zone and how to make Beer Spill Kick.
