TikTok Shop AI-Generated Content Policy: What Gets Removed Before Black Friday 2026

The TikTok Shop AI-generated content policy does not ban AI. It bans AI that lies about the product. As of November 2026, TikTok Shop US lets you use AI for scripts, B-roll, dubbing, styles and product demos, as long as the video matches the real product and you disclose content that is fully or significantly AI-made. It removes AI that fakes a product's effect, changes its size, color or bundle, invents a doctor or expert, or impersonates a real person. In LIVE the rule is stricter. AI-generated voices are not allowed at all.

That matters this month. TikTok's Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign runs from November 11 to November 30, 2026, and the Content Policy that spells out these AI rules is dated October 26. If you make AI UGC for Shop sellers or post as an affiliate, check every video against the table below before the 11th. Oakgen makes AI UGC ads, so we have a stake in this. We wrote the post so you can apply the rules with any tool.

Make AI UGC that matches the real product

Start from your product photo and a script built on real product facts, then review every take before it goes near TikTok Shop.

What does TikTok Shop allow and remove?

Here is the short version of four TikTok Shop US pages, read on 2026-11-04. The quotes are from the pages. The verdicts are ours.

What you do with AIShop videoShop LIVERule it falls under
Write the script or caption with AIAllowed if the facts are trueAllowed if the facts are trueAIGC page, permitted use 4
AI voiceover or dubbingAllowed, disclose if syntheticNot allowedAIGC page, use 3. LIVE rules ban "AI-generated voices"

Two things stand out. First, TikTok writes the product rules for AI the same way it writes them for any edit. The test is whether the shopper gets what the video shows. Second, LIVE is the one place where a voice has to be human and in real time.

Who this is for

This is for three groups getting ready for TikTok Shop Black Friday 2026:

  • Affiliate creators who post shoppable videos and want to use AI to make more of them.
  • Sellers and brands who brief agencies or creators on AI UGC for their Shop listings.
  • Agencies that produce AI UGC ads and now need a sign-off step before anything is posted.

If you only run paid ads from TikTok Ads Manager, the advertising policies apply to you as well. We did not review those for this post, so check them separately.

How we checked this

We read the pages in the sources list on 2026-11-04. We started from the US Content Policy (dated 10/26/2026), its AI-Generated Content Restrictions and Requirements page, the Requirements for High-Quality Videos and LIVEs page (dated 10/26/2026), the 2026 BFCM Creator Campaign Guide, the Requirements for Responsible Health-Related Content page (dated 10/30/2026) and TikTok's Community Guidelines section on edited media. Campaign dates come from TikTok's newsroom post of October 14, 2026.

We did not test enforcement. We have no data on how often TikTok removes AI content or how fast. Everything below is what the pages say, plus our reading of how it applies to AI UGC. These pages change often, so treat every rule as true as of November 2026.

What the Content Policy says about AI

The Content Policy covers everything you promote on TikTok Shop: LIVEs, videos, cover images, titles, on-screen text, spoken statements, and "voiceovers and microphone setups". Its AI section is short. AI-generated content is not allowed if it:

  • misleads or deceives viewers,
  • impersonates others,
  • changes or exaggerates a promoted product,
  • fabricates product effects or functions,
  • or breaks any other Shop or Community Guidelines rule.

It then adds the line that matters most for AI UGC. AI content must match "the actual product, the Product Description Page, and any reliable product evidence", including size, color, material, quantity, included accessories, compatibility, safety attributes, installation requirements and performance claims.

The longer AI page gives examples, and they read like a list of common AI ad shortcuts. Banned examples include shampoo that "instantly grows hair", a vacuum removing deep stains instantly, a drain cleaner that works "without realistic steps", seeds that grow into plants in days, and a 2D product turned into a fake rotating 3D object. TikTok sums it up in one sentence: "if AI makes a product look faster, stronger, or more effective than it really is, it is not allowed."

TikTok Shop AI UGC rules for shoppable videos

Most AI UGC on TikTok Shop is a recorded shoppable video, so this is where most of your risk sits. Four rules do most of the work.

Show the physical product

The AI page says product promotion videos "must clearly and accurately display the physical product", and AI must not "replace or fabricate product displays in a way that misleads users." The quality page goes further for posted videos. It asks for video "recorded in a real-world environment" with "your face and the physical product", and at least 3 seconds of dynamic content with no still images or loops.

Neither page bans AI presenters by name. But a video where an AI avatar holds a generated version of the product, with no real footage at all, fails the spirit of both pages. I would not post that format to TikTok Shop. I would use a real clip of the product as the anchor and let AI handle the hook, the B-roll and the variations around it.

Keep demos at real speed

AI is good at making things look instant, and TikTok names that problem. The page says before-and-after visuals "must not compress time or imply instant results unless the product can support that claim with reliable evidence." If the stain takes three passes in real life, show three passes.

No invented experts

TikTok calls fake professional personas "a key focus of governance", especially for supplements and functional foods. The health page dated 10/30/2026 is even more specific. It bans AI personas, digital avatars and "synthetic voices dressed in healthcare attire" or placed in clinics or labs. It also bans using AI, animation or filters to simulate debloating, even though real debloating demos are allowed.

Label it

Fully AI-generated or significantly AI-edited content must be disclosed. You can turn on the "AI-generated content" toggle when posting, which shows "Disclosed by creator as AI-generated", or say it on screen or in the description. The page says content will not be demoted just for having the toggle on. It also says false disclosure goes both ways. Labelling content as AI when it is not is also a violation. Our guide on whether you have to label AI videos covers the other platforms.

Variation volume is its own risk

The Content Policy treats "repetitive (homogeneous) content" as unoriginal. Its examples include template videos with "only minimal edits such as minor changes to poses, background, introduction" and "the same generic sales script for a range of different products." Twenty AI takes of one script with different backgrounds can match that description. Change the angle, the claim or the demo between variants, not only the face.

Can you use an AI voiceover in TikTok Shop LIVE?

No. This is the clearest rule in the set. Under "Prohibited Content" for LIVE, the quality page says: "Do not use non-real-time verbal interaction such as AI-generated voices, audio recordings, or radio." Its list of non-compliant content repeats it: "LIVEs that rely on AI-generated voices or pre-recorded audio instead of real-time communication."

The same section bans stills, slideshows, scrolling images and "animated figures or content" that cover more than 50% of the screen, and overlaying product page screenshots. The positive rule is that you "engage directly with your viewers using real-time verbal or sign language communication." If you need a break, TikTok wants you to use Pause LIVE.

So for AI voiceover, TikTok Shop LIVE and recorded video are treated differently:

FormatAI voice allowed?What TikTok says
Recorded shoppable videoYesAI "translation, dubbing, and subtitles" is a permitted use if accurate
LIVENoReal-time verbal or sign language communication only
Any format, a real person's voiceOnly with permissionNo AI copy of another person's "likeness, voice, name"

Some AI livestream vendors argue that an AI host answering comments in real time is not "non-real-time" audio. The page does not make that exception, and the example of non-compliant content names AI-generated voices directly. I would not bet a BFCM account on that argument.

AI still helps with LIVE. The AI page lists "LIVE video scripts" as a permitted use. Write the run of show, the product talking points and the answers to common questions with AI, then have a person deliver them.

What changes for TikTok Shop Black Friday 2026?

The rules are the same during the campaign. The cost of breaking them goes up, because the campaign has its own eligibility gate.

The 2026 BFCM Creator Campaign Guide says creator participation is judged on Creator Health Rating (CHR), Promotion Performance Score (PPS) and other quality signals. Affiliate creators may be removed from the campaign if CHR falls to 150 or below or PPS falls below 3.0. Merchant-type creators may be removed if CHR falls to 150 or below. The guide says removals based on these metrics "are generally not eligible for appeal."

Now connect that to AI. The AI page lists "Deducting applicable Creator Health Rating (CHR) points" as a content-level enforcement action, next to removing product links and limiting reach. Repeated violations can lead to "permanently disabling commission withdrawal privileges." One fake demo during the campaign can do more damage in November than in a quiet month.

Key dates, checked on 2026-11-04:

DateWhat happens
October 26, 2026Current Content Policy and LIVE quality rules dated
Wednesday, November 11BFCM campaign starts on TikTok Shop
Friday, November 27Black Friday
Monday, November 30Cyber Monday and last campaign day

The guide also tells sellers to create new product listings at least 2 weeks before the campaign starts, so they clear review. For a November 11 start that date has passed. If you make AI UGC for a product added late, check that its listing is live before you build content for it, or the video may link to a product page that does not match.

For campaign creative more broadly, our Black Friday ad creatives with AI post has briefs and offer angles. If you also run the same creative on Meta, read how Meta's AI ad terms apply to agencies before you reuse it.

The pre-post checklist for AI UGC on TikTok Shop

This is the asset to save. It turns the four pages into checks a reviewer can tick before a video goes live. TikTok's own best practices checklist on the AI page covers the first five lines. The rest come from the Content Policy, the quality page and the health page.

A worked example (illustrative)

This example is made up to show how the checklist works. It is not a real case.

An agency makes ten AI UGC videos for a cordless handheld vacuum. Video 4 shows an AI presenter lifting a dried coffee stain from a carpet in one pass. The product page says the vacuum is for dry debris. That fails checks 3 and 4, and the Content Policy names "immediate cleaning" as a banned AI demo. The fix is to cut the stain shot and show a real clip of the vacuum picking up cereal from a rug.

Videos 6 to 10 use the same script with five different AI presenters. That fails check 11. The fix is to give each one a different angle, such as car interiors, pet hair, stairs, a desk and a dorm room. Each video keeps a real product shot and the AI label, and all ten pass.

Common mistakes with AI UGC on TikTok Shop

  • Generating the product instead of using a photo of it. A model that re-draws your product will change the logo, the color or the size. Feed it a real product image every time.
  • Treating the AI label as a shield. The label covers disclosure. It does not make a fake demo acceptable. Both rules apply.
  • Reusing an ad for a Shop video. A hook that works in Ads Manager may break Shop's still-frame or real-product rules. Check it against the Shop pages.
  • Running an AI voice "just for the overnight stream". That is the exact case the LIVE rule names.
  • Copying a competitor's claim. "Clinically proven" or "removes acne in days" fails the Content Policy whether a human or an AI says it.
  • Making 50 near-identical variants. Test fewer, more different ideas. Our post on how many ad creatives to test on Meta explains how to size a test, and the logic carries over.

Most of these failures are product accuracy failures, not AI failures. A reviewer who knows the product page catches them in a minute. The realistic AI UGC ads checklist has more checks for how the video looks, and the AI UGC legal disclosure checklist covers the FTC side.

Where Oakgen fits, and where it does not

Oakgen's AI UGC ad generator is built as a reviewed workflow, which suits these rules. You plan angles with the ad angle generator from your real product facts, draft a script, then open the UGC ads studio. There you pair a presenter image with your product image to make presenter takes and B-roll in 9:16, 4:5 or 1:1. Starting from a real product photo is the habit that keeps checks 1 and 2 green.

What Oakgen does not do for you:

  • It does not decide whether a claim is true. You still check the script against the product page.
  • It does not set TikTok's AI toggle for you. You disclose when you upload.
  • It cannot run a LIVE for you, and under TikTok Shop's rules no AI tool should.

If you need a consistent presenter across a month of videos, you can create one in AI Influencers and call them by name. If the voice is your own, clone it with consent in voice cloning, and still disclose it, since a synthetic voice is one of TikTok's named disclosure cases. For voice scripts at 15, 30 and 60 seconds, see AI voiceover for UGC ads with Eleven v4.

When another tool or approach fits better

Be honest about the job. For a TikTok Shop LIVE, you need a person, a phone or camera, good light and a microphone. No AI video tool helps with the broadcast.

For demos of how a product performs, a real creator filming the real product is safer than any AI scene. TikTok's rules ask for that footage. Use AI around it for hooks, captions and variants.

If you want AI content that TikTok labels for you automatically, TikTok's own tools may fit better. The AI page says content made with official TikTok AI effects is labelled by the platform with no manual step. We compare TikTok's in-house creative tools with other options in TikTok Symphony alternatives. If you also publish to YouTube, the platform rules there are different. The bottom line

AI is welcome on TikTok Shop when it shows the real product at its real speed, with a label, and without a fake person vouching for it. It is not welcome as the voice of a LIVE. With the campaign starting November 11, put the 13-point checklist into your review step this week and run every AI video through it before it gets a product link.

Frequently asked questions

Is AI-generated content allowed on TikTok Shop?

Yes. TikTok Shop's AI-Generated Content Restrictions and Requirements page says content will not be restricted or penalized solely for using AI. It is removed when it misleads viewers, impersonates someone, changes or exaggerates the product, or fabricates what the product does. Fully or significantly AI-made content must also be disclosed.

Can I use an AI voice in a TikTok Shop LIVE?

No, not in the US as of November 2026. The Requirements for High-Quality Videos and LIVEs page, dated 10/26/2026, says not to use non-real-time verbal interaction such as AI-generated voices, audio recordings or radio during a LIVE. You must speak in real time or use sign language.

Can I use an AI voiceover in a TikTok Shop video?

Yes, in a recorded video. TikTok Shop lists AI translation, dubbing, subtitles and narration as permitted uses, as long as the information is accurate. Disclose it if the voice is synthetic, and do not clone a real person's voice without their permission.

How do I label AI content on TikTok Shop?

Either turn on the AI-generated content toggle in the post settings, which shows a Disclosed by creator as AI-generated label, or say it in the content with on-screen text, a watermark, a sticker or a note in the description. Content is not demoted just because the toggle is on.

What are the dates of TikTok Shop Black Friday 2026?

TikTok's newsroom says the Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaign on TikTok Shop runs from November 11 to November 30, 2026. Black Friday itself is November 27 and Cyber Monday is November 30.

Can an AI violation get me removed from the BFCM campaign?

It can. TikTok Shop's 2026 BFCM Creator Campaign Guide says affiliate creators may be removed if their Creator Health Rating falls to 150 or below or their Promotion Performance Score falls below 3.0. AI violations can cost Creator Health Rating points, and the guide says metric-based removals are generally not eligible for appeal.

Can I use an AI avatar as the presenter in a TikTok Shop affiliate video?

TikTok Shop's rules do not ban avatars by name, but they ask shoppable videos to feature your face and the physical product, and they say AI must not replace product displays in a misleading way. An avatar-only video with no real product footage is the riskiest format. Label it, and show the real product.
