Boy It's Just Alcohol is the barber meme where someone gets a dab of alcohol on the forehead and reacts like they have been set on fire, and the barber tells them, "Boy, you always doing too much. Boy, it's just alcohol." In the AI version this template is built from, the customer throws the whole barber cape around. Oakgen's Boy It's Just Alcohol template makes that 10-second clip with two photos of your choosing. This guide goes from choosing the photos to posting, in order. If you want the story of the meme and ideas for who to cast, the companion article, Boy It's Just Alcohol meme explained, covers both.
Put your most dramatic friend in the chair
Add a Customer and a Barber photo, review your credit quote and make the 10-second Boy It's Just Alcohol video with the original line.
What the template gives you
One continuous portrait take, 10 seconds long, with the reference's original sound. You replace both people in it. Everything else stays: the barbershop with its black brick wall and white light strip, the black metal flag panel on the white wall, the leather chairs, the busy shop in the background, the handheld camera and the timing of every beat.

The opening spray from the AI reference clip, not an Oakgen output. Your Customer and Barber take these two places.
| Time (about) | What happens |
|---|---|
| 0 to 2 s | The Barber sprays a mist onto a folded tissue behind the seated Customer |
| 2 s | The first dab on the forehead |
| 2.5 to 3.5 s | The Customer flinches and throws the cape up and over |
| 3.5 to 5 s | An arm flails out from under the cape; "Boy, you always doing too much" |
| 5 to 6.5 s | The Customer turns to look at the Barber; "Boy, it's just alcohol" |
| 7 to 9 s | The second dab, a swat, and "acting like a kid, it's alcohol" |
| 9 to 10 s | The Customer settles back under the cape, looking down |
The full breakdown is in Boy It's Just Alcohol, second by second.
Step 1: Pick the Customer photo
The Customer is the one in the chair, close to the camera and on screen the whole time. What matters, in order:
- A clear face. The face is seen side-on and close for the first two seconds and again when the Customer turns to look up at the Barber. A sharp, evenly lit photo matters more than a full-length one.
- Visible hair. The cape goes over the head at about 3 seconds and comes back down. The hair in your photo is what has to reappear.
- One subject. No second person, no heavy filter, no sunglasses.
The Customer wears a plain black pinstriped barber cape over their own clothes. The sleeve that shows when an arm comes out is the one in your photo.
Step 2: Pick the Barber photo
The Barber stands behind the chair on the right, slightly further back, and delivers the main line. A head-and-shoulders photo in the top you want them to wear is enough. The template adds a plain spray bottle and a folded tissue to their hands, so you do not need a photo holding anything.
Both slots are required. The template will not start until both have a photo, and an empty slot does not keep either of the original performers. What each photo controls is laid out in the it's just alcohol barber meme from two photos. A pet works in either slot and keeps its species; the dog version explains what a pet customer does.
Step 3: Read the quote
Open the Boy It's Just Alcohol template, add the two photos and pick a quality: 480p, 720p or 1080p. The studio shows the credit price before you generate. The quote includes both photo preparations and the complete video. A 480p run is the cheaper way to test a new pair of photos before paying for 1080p.
Step 4: Check the result
Watch it once with sound and once muted. Look for the Customer's face coming back as the same person after the cape throw, each mouth following its own visible speech and reactions, fingers and the tissue during the dabs and swats, one cape from start to finish, and no lettering, grey patches or cyan lines left from the motion guide. The result checklist goes through each of these and says what to re-run.
Step 5: Post it
The line is the punchline, so the caption only has to say who is doing too much: "Me at every flu shot." Use the frame at about 5 to 6 seconds as the cover, when both faces are clear, and keep any on-screen text near the top, over the white wall. More caption patterns are in Boy It's Just Alcohol captions and posting ideas.
Say that the video is AI-made, and use photos only of yourself, your pets or people who agreed to appear.
