Squinting into the sunset
Original

Why you squint in sunny photos

Bright light makes eyes narrow on their own, and facing the sun to get the sky in the shot makes it worse. The result is the classic golden-hour photo with half-shut eyes and a tight smile.

A retake keeps the light and the sky and redraws only the eyes and the expression around them. The prompt asks it to keep the lighting and exposure as they are, so the warm light on your face should stay.

  1. Tick "Stop squinting". Add "Natural smile" if the smile went tight too, and "Open eyes" if they are almost shut.
  2. Use the photo where the face is big enough. A retake works best when the face is not tiny in the frame.
  3. Name the person if others are in the shot. Only that person's eyes change.
  4. Check the eyes at full size. Make sure the eye colour and the light in the eyes still look like you. If not, generate again.

Questions

Can AI fix squinting in a photo?

Yes. Tick "Stop squinting" and the retake relaxes the eyes, while the prompt keeps the light, the sky and the framing as they are.

Will it keep my eye colour?

The prompt asks for the same person and identity. Check the eyes at full size, and if the colour or shape drifted, generate again.

Does it darken the photo to stop the squint?

It is not meant to. The prompt asks it to keep the lighting, exposure and colours and to change only the expression.

How much does a retake cost?

One retake of a standard 4:3 phone photo costs 21 credits. Other photo shapes cost 19 to 26 credits. This page shows the price for your photo before you continue, and Create shows it again before you press Generate.

Your best take is one upload away.
