On Oakgen Micro Drama, a 60-second AI micro drama episode is estimated at up to about 1,803 credits for a two-person cast and 1,856 for a four-person cast, as of 2026-10-30. Roughly 1,502 to 1,546 of that is the planned storyboard, filming and music. The rest is a 20% redo allowance. The default 3 × 60-second series is estimated at 4,586 to 5,853 credits.
We built every number below by running Oakgen's own Micro Drama estimate code with unit prices quoted live from Oakgen's pricing on 2026-10-30. The inputs are in the tables, so you can redo the sums when prices move.

How much does one episode cost by length?
The table shows the "Make episode" limit the studio would ask you to approve for an episode that has not been written yet, which is how the estimate prices it. Two columns cover the smallest and largest casts, because each storyboard frame sends more reference images when more people can appear in it.
| Episode length | Shots planned | Storyboard | Filming | Music and captions | Redo allowance | Limit, 2-person cast | Limit, 4-person cast |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 30 s | 2 × 15 s | 82 to 104 | 610 | 59 | 151 to 155 | 902 | 928 |
| 45 s | 3 × 15 s | 123 to 156 | 915 | 89 | 226 to 232 | 1,353 | 1,392 |
| 60 s | 4 × 15 s | 164 to 208 | 1,220 | 118 | 301 to 310 | 1,803 | 1,856 |
| 90 s | 6 × 15 s | 246 to 312 | 1,830 | 177 | 451 to 464 | 2,704 | 2,783 |
All figures are credits, as of 2026-10-30. Per second of finished episode that is about 25 to 26 credits of planned work, plus the allowance.
Three things to read from it. Filming is about four fifths of the planned cost at every length, so shot count and shot length drive the bill. The storyboard is cheap, which is why reviewing it before filming saves money. And the redo allowance is a ceiling, not a charge: "Unused credits stay in your balance", in the studio's words.
A written episode is priced from its real shots, so its quote can differ from this table. A 60-second episode written as six 10-second shots, for example, costs 6 × 203 = 1,218 credits to film, almost the same as four 15-second shots.
What does a whole series cost?
The start screen shows a range before you write anything: "Filming a 3 × 60s series usually costs 4,586 to 5,853 credits." Here is the same estimate for other shapes, all within the 300-second series cap.
| Series | Total length | Low estimate | High estimate |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 × 30 s | 30 s | 831 | 1,136 |
| 1 × 60 s | 60 s | 1,582 | 2,063 |
| 1 × 90 s | 90 s | 2,333 | 2,991 |
| 3 × 30 s | 90 s | 2,333 | 3,070 |
| 3 × 60 s (default) | 180 s | 4,586 | 5,853 |
| 2 × 90 s | 180 s | 4,586 | 5,813 |
| 5 × 45 s | 225 s | 5,715 | 7,326 |
| 4 × 60 s | 240 s | 6,088 | 7,748 |
| 8 × 30 s | 240 s | 6,088 | 7,906 |
| 3 × 90 s | 270 s | 6,839 | 8,636 |
| 5 × 60 s | 300 s | 7,590 | 9,642 |
Credits as of 2026-10-30. The code defines the two ends like this:
- Low. Every episode's storyboard, filming and music with no retakes, plus a world of two faces with one outfit each and one place.
- High. Four characters with outfits and voices, a place with a new time of day for every episode, storyboards priced for a four-person cast, and the 20% redo allowance on top of all of it.
- Left out of both. Writing. The first series script on each account is free, and later scripts show their price on the Write my series button before you approve.
Total length drives the range more than the split. 3 × 60 and 2 × 90 land within 40 credits of each other.
What are the unit prices behind the estimate?
The estimate asks Oakgen's pricing for one request shaped like each job and multiplies. These are the quotes we got on 2026-10-30, for the same inputs the Drama code sends.
| Job | Model and settings | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| Character sheet, place | GPT Image 2.5, 864 × 1536, high quality, no reference | 14 |
| Outfit | GPT Image 2.5 edit, 1 reference image | 19 |
| Storyboard frame, small cast | GPT Image 2.5 edit, 5 reference images | 41 |
| Storyboard frame, four-person cast | GPT Image 2.5 edit, 7 reference images | 52 |
| Filmed shot, 5 s | MiniMax H3 reference-to-video, 9:16, 768p, 5 references | 102 |
| Filmed shot, 10 s | Same, 10 seconds | 203 |
| Filmed shot, 15 s | Same, 15 seconds | 305 |
| Voice sample (high estimate only) | ElevenLabs v3, one short line | 2 |
| Episode score | ElevenLabs Music, 30 s | 59 |
An episode's quote is then four lines. Storyboard is frames × frame price. Filming is the sum of the shot prices. Music is the score price per second × episode seconds, rounded up. The redo allowance is 20% of those three, rounded up. For a 60-second episode with a small cast: 4 × 41 + 4 × 305 + 118 = 1,502, plus 301 allowance, gives 1,803.
A shot that sends more than five reference images costs more, and the studio prices that from the real shot once it is written. These are list prices. Each paid step in the studio shows its own figure before you approve, and that figure is the one that counts.
What does the cast and world cost?
Making the cast is approved once, before episode 1. It covers a character sheet and one outfit per character and an image for each place, plus the same 20% allowance. Characters cast by the AI have no saved voice as of 2026-10-30, so there is no voice sample to pay for. The writer decides how many places the story needs, so your own quote can differ. Using the unit prices above:
| Cast | Places | Planned | Allowance | Approval limit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 characters | 2 | 94 | 19 | 113 |
| 3 characters | 3 | 141 | 29 | 170 |
| 4 characters | 4 | 188 | 38 | 226 |
As of 2026-10-30 each extra outfit adds 19 credits, and a new face is a 14-credit character sheet plus any outfits it has to redo. Locking the cast and world is free. After the lock, changing a face or an outfit redoes the shots it appears in, and the studio shows that cost before you choose.
How much do retakes add?
A retake costs the same as the original take. As of 2026-10-30, redoing a 15-second shot costs 305 credits, a 10-second shot 203 and a 5-second shot 102. Redrawing a storyboard frame costs 19 to 52 depending on how many reference images it sends. Fixing a caption is free.
Retakes come out of the episode's approved limit. The redo allowance on a 60-second episode, 301 credits, covers about one 15-second retake. If the limit runs out, the studio follows its own rule, "Never over the limit. If it runs out, we pause and ask." Generations that fail, or that you stop before they finish, are refunded.
Here is the default series with a two-person cast at three retake rates. These are worked examples from the unit prices, not measurements of real runs.
| Scenario | Cast | Three 60-s episodes | Retakes | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| No retakes | 113 | 4,506 | 0 | 4,619 |
| One 15-s shot redone per episode | 113 | 4,506 | 915 | 5,534 |
| Two shots and two frames redone per episode | 113 | 4,506 | 2,076 | 6,695 |
In the third row each episode spends 2,194 credits against a limit of 1,803, so the studio would pause each episode once and ask you to approve more. The same logic runs through our AI UGC vs real creators cost check. What you pay per usable clip depends on how many you throw away, so track your own retake rate over the first episode.
How many episodes does each plan cover?
Plans as listed on /pricing on 2026-10-30. Plans and prices can change.
| Plan | Price | Credits per month | What that covers in Micro Drama |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $9/mo | 2,000 | A two-person cast (113) and one 60-second episode (up to 1,803) |
| Pro | $19/mo | 5,000 | The default 3 × 60 s series with a two-person cast and no retakes (4,619 planned). Retakes would need add-on credits. |
| Ultimate | $29/mo | 10,000 | A full 300-second series at the high estimate |
| Creator | $99/mo | 40,000 | Several full series a month |
Annual plans hand out their credits monthly. Writing the first series costs nothing on any account, but the cast, storyboards and filmed episodes need a paid plan.
How do you keep the cost down?
- Write episode 1 only, film it and watch it before you approve episode 2. A premise that does not hold costs one episode, not five.
- Keep the cast small. Two or three characters keep storyboard frames at the cheaper reference count and keep the cast approval under about 170 credits.
- Read the storyboard before filming. A redrawn frame costs 19 to 52 credits where a refilmed 15-second shot costs 305.
- Use the Director's note on a redo instead of retrying blind. A specific note ("she should look terrified, not sad") gives the next take something to change.
- Fix captions with Fix caption, which is free, instead of redoing a shot for a typo.
The step-by-step micro drama guide walks through the whole flow, and the tropes and hooks list helps you pick a premise strong enough to be worth filming.
When might another tool fit?
If your series must be longer than 300 seconds, needs more than four characters or must be delivered as a file today, the Drama estimate does not apply, because the studio does not make that series yet. Price it shot by shot in the video generator instead, where every model shows its price before you generate, and assemble it in Compose.
How we checked this
On 2026-10-30 we read Oakgen's Micro Drama estimate code (the series estimate, the episode quote and the cast quote) and the pricing loader it calls. We quoted each unit price live through Oakgen's pricing with the same model settings the code sends, then ran the estimate functions with those prices. The cast table follows the same quote rules with those prices. The retake scenarios are arithmetic, not observed runs, and we did not measure how often shots fail. Plan prices come from oakgen.ai/pricing, read the same day.
Frequently asked questions
How much does one AI micro drama episode cost on Oakgen?
As of 2026-10-30, a 60-second episode is estimated at up to about 1,803 credits for a two-person cast and 1,856 for four. About 1,502 to 1,546 of that is the planned work. The rest is a redo allowance that is only spent if a shot fails a check.
How much does a whole AI micro drama series cost?
The estimate for the default 3 episodes of 60 seconds is 4,586 to 5,853 credits as of 2026-10-30. The largest series the start screen allows, 5 episodes of 60 seconds (300 seconds in total), is estimated at 7,590 to 9,642 credits.
What is the most expensive part of an AI drama episode?
Filming. On Oakgen a 15-second shot from MiniMax H3 at 768p costs 305 credits as of 2026-10-30, so filming is about four fifths of an episode's planned cost. Storyboard frames and music are small by comparison.
Do failed shots cost credits?
A generation that fails, or that you stop before it finishes, is refunded. A shot that renders but that you do not like is paid, and redoing it costs the same as filming it again.
Which Oakgen plan do I need for a micro drama?
As of 2026-10-30, Basic includes 2,000 credits a month, which covers a small cast and one 60-second episode. Pro includes 5,000, enough for the default three-episode series with no retakes. Ultimate's 10,000 covers a full 300-second series. Plans can change, so check /pricing.
